01 / THE APP

Workout and location data.

Runner uses Apple HealthKit to run workout sessions and obtain available measurements such as heart rate, running speed, walking and running distance, active energy, and workout time. With your permission, workouts and associated available measurements are saved to Apple Health.

For outdoor runs, Runner uses location on Apple Watch to record a GPS route and estimate distance and elevation gain. Available routes are associated with the saved HealthKit workout. Indoor runs use the watch’s motion-based distance measurements and do not record GPS routes or elevation gain.

Runner processes these health and location measurements on the watch. It does not transmit them to the Runner iPhone companion, FLR Group, an analytics provider, or a developer-operated server.

Apple Health may sync or share saved information according to your Apple settings and the permissions you grant to other apps. Those Apple-managed features are outside Runner’s own data transfers. See Apple’s Health privacy information.

What stays on your devices.

Settings and recovery

Runner stores layout choices, colors, text weights, workout preferences, and cached purchase-access state locally. During a workout, it also keeps local state needed to try to reconnect to an interrupted session, including relevant progress for lap and elevation calculations. This is not a separate backup or export of a workout.

The paired iPhone and Apple Watch exchange layout settings and verified purchase-access state through Apple’s WatchConnectivity. Health measurements and GPS routes are not included in that settings sync.

All Metrics

The optional All Metrics purchase and restoration are handled by Apple’s App Store. Runner checks Apple-verified entitlements on iPhone and sends the resulting access status to the paired watch. FLR Group does not receive your payment-card details through Runner and does not operate a purchase-verification server. Apple processes purchases under its own terms and privacy policy.

No advertising or analytics

Runner requires no account and includes no advertising, third-party analytics SDKs, or tracking. We do not collect, sell, or use your workout data for advertising.

03 / YOUR CHOICES

You control access.

You can change Runner’s Health and location permissions in your devices’ Health and Privacy & Security settings. Revoking a permission can limit the related feature or leave some metrics unavailable. Runner needs permission to save workouts to Apple Health before starting a workout.

Retention and deletion

Saved workouts and routes remain in Apple Health until you delete them using Apple’s Health or Fitness controls. Uninstalling Runner does not delete workouts already saved to Health.

Runner’s preferences and recovery state are kept in its local app storage as needed for those features. Removing Runner removes its local app storage on that device; remove it from both devices to remove both copies. Apple-managed backups, Health syncing, and App Store purchase history follow your Apple settings and Apple’s policies. There is no Runner server account or developer-held workout database to delete.

This website

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. It does not add analytics, advertising, cookies, browser storage, or third-party font services. Page assets are served from this site.

GitHub logs visitor IP addresses for security purposes when serving GitHub Pages websites. This hosting activity is separate from Runner’s on-device workout processing. See GitHub Pages data collection and the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Support email

If you email us, FLR Group receives your sender address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond to and resolve your request, and retain it only as needed to handle the correspondence and any applicable obligations. Email is handled outside the Runner app through email providers.

Please avoid sending health measurements, GPS routes, or other sensitive information unless needed for an issue you choose to discuss. You may ask us about or request deletion of your support correspondence using the address below.
